These two pictures represents The Terra Madre Day, Perveen and Zaheera presents Urban chic handcrafted jewellery and our Rural winner, Ntomzana who won the overall Organic Gardener Competition in St Mark’s Village October 2008 celebrates rural empowerment! Perveen and Zaheera, two driving forces leading the way in the Cape Town celebrations on Thursday 10 December 2009. Ntomzana our winner in the Eastern Cape is part of the group of 5 women farmers who will be taking their vegetable produce which they farm on 1 hectare of land to the busy National road which has an entrance into St Mark’s Village on Thursday 10 December. Here they will be introducing their freshly harvested vegetable produce, free range chickens and traditional food to surrounding villages in the Cofimvaba District ! Perveen and Zaheera will be active at Pinelands Community Hall, St Stephens Road Pinelands on Thursday 10 December from 12 noon to 9pm. They are joined by Erica from Protea Hills Farm, Shihaams traditional restaurant, Jenny’s photocards,christmas edibles and organic vanilla pods, A range of vegetable,fruit and herb producers will be bringing their fresh organic produce to market, Madhuri be be there with her tantalising vegetarian food and snacks, Samantha will be selling organic rooibosch tea, ginger biscuits and the famous Hendricks crunchies fresh from the oven! In addition to rosemary mayonnaise and organic dips and pate’s. Nondyebo’s skillfully made handcrafted angels are sure to touch your blessed hearts. There are so many more………………. come and see, sample, bring your baskets to take home your fresh organic veggies, christmas edibles,cakes by Alison who heard about it on Radio CCFM!
