About MENNGOS
MENNGOS was registered as a section 21 company in October 1995. This was the first Network to be formally registered in South Africa. MENNGOS specializes in: Facilitating capacity building services to SMME’s, and Service Providers through training, support and information!
MENNGOS Vision -Accelerated growth in the delivery of small enterprise development services.
The value that MENNGOS adds as a network is critical. As members, we are accountable as a collective to increase the leveraging capacity of MENNGOS in sharing resources and in jointly accelerating the growth in enterprise development services!
Hence the primary objectives of the network are:
- Advocacy
- Facilitate resource and information exchange between government, formal business and small business
- Identify training needs of the sector and gaps that may exist in training programmes, and to facilitate the design and location of proper and appropriate programmes
- Facilitate co-operation and promote good relations among actors and stakeholders in the Small, Medium, Micro Enterprise (SMME) sector
- To disseminate information to entrepreneurs (SMME’s) and service providers working with SMME’s
- Foster and promote all of the above through networking, counselling, mentoring, seminars and conferences
In maintaining a focused approach, these services have resulted in the following benefits:
- The building of effective delivery partnerships.
- The meeting of other role-players who have a direct influence on the industry, the Department of Trade and Industry and other resource mobilisers
- Highlighting the imbalance in the distribution of support services between the urban and rural – the latter range from the minimal to zero compared with those available in the urban areas.
- Linkages between member organisations and entrepreneurs to expand their operations.
- Capacity building of the member’s staff to provide more effective services.
- Providing a bigger and louder voice in advocacy, where it affects the sector directly,
MENNGOS has a focus on women, youth and people with disabilities.
